Nellie Fisher Slayden
is Counsel with King & Spalding. She has over a decade of experience preparing and appealing complex intellectual property and commercial lawsuits around the U.S., including planning, discovery, strategy, motion practice, trial, appellate practice, and proceedings before the International Trade Commission.
In addition to her IP and commercial business litigation practice, Ms. Slayden counsels clients in the following areas:
global IP asset strategy, particularly U.S. and Europe;
freedom-to-operate counseling, product clearance and other patent matters;
monetizing IP (including negotiating and drafting related technology agreements, such as technology transfer, joint industrial participation, patent license, consulting, and confidentiality agreements);
patent prosecution; and
trademark, trade secret, and domain name issues and litigation.
Ms. Slayden’s experience covers a broad spectrum of technologies, including blood glucose monitoring systems, integrated circuit manufacturing, fiber optics, hybrid broadcast systems, computer integrated telephony, automatic identification and machine vision, polymer catalysis, multilayer polymer films, gas turbines, hydrocarbon production and reservoir recovery systems, hydrocarbon transportation systems, and refining and hydrocarbon processing.
Previously, Ms. Slayden was associated with the Litigation Department and the Intellectual Property Law Department of the international law firm of Baker Botts LLP.
Ms. Slayden is proficient in French and Farsi (Persian) and conversant in Spanish.
