Nolan Lafler

Nolan represents public and private labor unions, employee benefit plans, and individual employees in a broad variety of labor and employment matters. His practice consists of traditional labor relations, including arbitrations, collective bargaining, and cases before the NLRB and PERB, as well as state and federal court litigation. Nolan routinely handles disputes arising under the National Labor Relations Act, the New York Public Employees Fair Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law. He has also been recognized for his commitment to pro bono service, including his representation of lower income individuals who often have been unlawfully denied unemployment insurance benefits.

Nolan is a former recipient of the Peggy Browning Fellowship For Workers’ Rights. Prior to joining Blitman & King LLP, Nolan was a law clerk at American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the NLRB, and the U.S. Department of Labor. His law review comment, which critiques the NLRB’s treatment of temporary workers, was published in the American University International Law Review.

Originally from Rochester, Nolan did not hesitate when given the opportunity to return home to Western New York. Away from the office, he enjoys baseball, tennis, fishing and snowboarding.
