Parashos Kalaitzis

Parashos Kalaitzis is an IP attorney with unique insight into the needs of today’s top innovators. He brings a valuable combination of in-depth legal knowledge and technological fluency to his practice, which primarily focuses on electronics, semiconductors and complex software. Parashos first began honing his technical skills as an electrical engineering undergraduate and during this time, obtained a broad foundation in engineering, mathematics and physics. He now relies on this comprehensive skill set to quickly learn the intricacies of clients’ inventions, thus, allocating more time to devising creative and sustainable IP strategies.

Attorney first, technologist second

Parashos understands the dynamics between his role as an attorney, business counselor and technologist. This relationship came into clear focus for him during several years of in-house experience with a Fortune 500 company. There, he managed global IP strategies, which included participating in invention mining, asset valuation, code clearance, licensing and negotiation. In other capacities, he has also managed critical high-profile matters, including inter partes review (IPR) proceedings.

This experience not only placed Parashos at the interface between a company’s technology and business objectives, but it also taught him what it takes to generate the highest return for an invention, while striking a balance between cost, efficiency and quality. As a result, he has a keen understanding of his clients’ business interests and objectives, which better informs his patent preparation and portfolio management practice.

Outside of work, Parashos enjoys reading and working out. He is fluent in Greek and has working knowledge of Spanish.
