Patricia Thrower Barmeyer

is a partner in King & Spalding’s Atlanta office and the head of the firm’s environmental practice. She joined the firm in 1990 after working on environmental and natural resource cases for 17 years in the office of the Attorney General of the State of Georgia. At King & Spalding Ms. Barmeyer has concentrated her practice in environmental litigation in the areas of water, waste, and air. Chambers USA Leading Lawyers for Business has ranked Ms. Barmeyer as a “Star Individual,” and the top environmental lawyer in Georgia since 2006. Chambers 2014 says commenters describe her as “an excellent litigator,” and quotes clients as saying “She’s extraordinarily smart and intuitive. She has the gift that only really good lawyers have of imagination.” Chambers 2013 describes her as “the dean of the Georgia environmental Bar.” Ms. Barmeyer was named Best Lawyers’ Atlanta Environmental Lawyer of the Year in 2010 and again in 2014. Ms. Barmeyer’s expertise combines a detailed knowledge of environmental law with courtroom experience in environmental cases. The environmental practice won the “Law 360 Practice Group of the Year” award for 2010 and for 2012, one of only five law firms in the United States in the field of environmental law.
