Patrick concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, joint ventures and domestic and international supply chain management. In the M&A context, Patrick assists public and private companies domiciled in the United States with transactional activities in the United States and abroad, as well as companies outside the United States looking to acquire and divest businesses in North America. Patrick previously served as Chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Cross-Border Transactions department for 4 years and has also served as Chair of the Associates Committee and as a member of the Advisory Committee.

Recent transactions have involved businesses with operations in the United States, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Iceland, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland and the United Kingdom, and have involved diverse industries, with a predominance in manufacturing, life sciences, and food and beverage. As a member of the life sciences industry group, he helps pharmaceutical and medical device companies develop business strategies for joint ventures and other development programs, including co-development and marketing agreements, licensing arrangements, commercialization agreements, and manufacturing and supply agreements.

In his role as a trusted business advisor, Patrick regularly counsels clients on general corporate and business law matters, helping them realize their strategic business objectives and goals. Earlier in his career, Patrick acted as legal counsel to the secretary of state of the Brussels Region (Belgium), after which he practiced at a Belgian law firm. He also served as an assistant professor in European Community Law and Public International Law at the University of Leuven School of Law in Leuven, Belgium.
