Patrick is a trial lawyer with a broad litigation practice that focuses on products and premises liability, healthcare, occupational safety and health and complex business matters. He has represented corporations and individuals in trials involving alleged tortious conduct and professional negligence. He has tried numerous catastrophic injury cases, and in the process, has conducted and defended hundreds of party, fact witness and expert witness depositions, including preparing corporate representatives to give sworn testimony. He has managed extensive discovery projects and overseen extensive trial preparation activities.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Patrick was in private practice in Raleigh and also served as special assistant to the administrator in the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the U.S. Department of Justice.
While earning his law degree at Campbell University Law School, Patrick was president of the Student Bar Association and a participant in both the ALTA Trial Competition and John Marshall Moot Court Competition. He was also honored as a member of the Order of Barristers. Patrick currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and was appointed to the Campbell University Board of Presidential Advisors.
