Patrick W. Skelton is a partner in Holland & Knight's Tampa office. Mr. Skelton focuses his primary practice on creditors' rights and real estate related litigation. He represents clients in state court with respect to the enforcement or defense of claims involving contracts for the sale or purchase of commercial real property, notes, mortgages and other commercial paper, construction disputes, commercial lease issues and all areas associated with the ownership of real property, including boundary line disputes, easements and other real property issues. Mr. Skelton also represents creditors in the assertion and enforcement of their rights in bankruptcy.

Mr. Skelton provides a variety of services to lenders and creditors with respect to the perfection and enforcement of their rights under the Uniform Commercial Code, including asset-based financing. He represents creditors through the institution of actions involving collection and the foreclosure of security interests in state court and provides representation in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases.

Mr. Skelton has substantial experience in representing both individual and corporate clients, as landlord or tenant, in complex commercial lease disputes, including the bringing or defending of eviction proceedings. He has filed claims and prosecuted legal actions to enforce lender rights under mortgage insurance policies, represented the insured under title insurance policies, brought and defended civil actions arising under contracts in general, and real estate in particular, including common law fraud, and has represented clients in a wide range of real estate related litigation matters.
