Paul Maurice Baisier

Mr. Baisier concentrates his practice in two primary areas: bankruptcy, including workouts and collection litigation, and real estate transactions.

Bankruptcy. Mr. Baisier has substantial experience in representing secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, vendors, asset purchasers, post-petition lenders, and creditors’ committees in bankruptcy cases in courts around the United States, including New York and Delaware. These bankruptcy cases have been in varied industries, from airlines to telecommunications to steel to textiles to basic manufacturing. Mr. Baisier also has experience representing debtors and companies facing financial difficulty.

Mr. Baisier also has substantial experience representing secured lender clients in out-of court restructurings, receiverships, and real and personal property foreclosures. He also has substantial experience in pursuing state law collection litigation, including foreclosure confirmations and suits on notes and guaranties.

Mr. Baisier also regularly assists lending counsel in the structuring of commercial lending transactions, and renders legal opinions addressing bankruptcy-related issues in lending and other commercial transactions.

Real Estate. Mr. Baisier has substantial experience in real estate development and real estate leasing. He also has significant experience in real estate lending matters. His real estate development experience includes the representation of retail, office, and industrial developers. Mr. Baisier has represented both landlords and tenants in commercial real estate leasing matters, and those representations have involved all property types. Mr. Baisier represents both borrowers and lenders in real estate lending matters.

Mr. Baisier has taught on an adjunct basis at Emory University School of Law, speaks regularly on bankruptcy and real estate topics, and has numerous published articles.
