Philip Green

is an associate in King & Spalding’s Atlanta office and a member of the Tort & Environmental Practice Group. Since joining the firm, Mr. Green’s practice has centered on the representation of corporations in complex, high-stakes product liability actions.

Mr. Green is a member of the King & Spalding team serving as trial counsel for R.J. Reynolds in defending against thousands of smoking and health actions brought by individual plaintiffs in Florida following the decertification of a high-profile class action. These cases present numerous complex and novel issues of law, including issues concerning class actions, preclusion (res judicata and collateral estoppel), due process, and federal preemption.

A member of both the Georgia Bar and the Florida Bar, Mr. Green has participated in five multi-week jury trials, dozens of bench trials, and he has significant experience arguing legal issues in federal and state courts. In the course of his representation of R.J. Reynolds, Mr. Green has served as counsel responsible for appellate issues, motions practice, and legal strategy.
