Philippe C.M. Manteau

Philippe Manteau’s practice focuses on growth, mid-cap and large private companies, governmental organizations and individuals in the United States and abroad in the areas of corporate and business law, as well as technology transactions. The core of his practice consists of assisting French, European and other international private companies in their U.S. investments and cross-border transactions and litigation. He also serves as outside U.S. general counsel to a variety of European clients, providing day-to-day legal and business counsel in matters of all types.

Mr. Manteau’s training and international experience allow him to identify, analyze and resolve issues arising in cross-border transactions for foreign and U.S. clients. He is active in a number of industries, including software and information technology, medical devices, pharmaceutical, industrial equipment, consumer brands and retail, food and beverage, and fashion.

Prior to establishing his practice in the United States, Mr. Manteau had extensive experience in Europe, gaining a strong understanding of foreign clients’ culture and needs when it comes to their U.S. investments.

As a dual French-American citizen living and working in the United States, Mr. Manteau has also been involved with the French-American expatriate/immigrant community since the early days of his settling in the U.S. In 2012, he ran for membership “at large” of the French House of Representatives (l'Assemblée Nationale), which, for the first time in French history, opened its doors to French citizens living abroad.

Mr. Manteau is a frequent speaker at seminars and events hosted by Paris EUROPLACE, a nonprofit organization comprised of the major representative institutions of the Paris financial market, as well as government agencies. In addition, he regularly speaks to French-American entrepreneurs at engagements with the French-American Conference of Entrepreneurs (FACE), and the French-American Chamber of Commerce in the U.S.
