Randy D. Gordon

Randy Gordon focuses his practice on complex litigation, with an international reputation as a counselor to private and public companies in the areas of antitrust, RICO, securities and intellectual property law. Randy has served in a variety of leadership roles, in and out of the courtroom, including as lead counsel in numerous class actions and other high-stakes matters and civil law cases. These have ranged from lead class counsel to chair of a joint defense committee to membership on the Gardere team in a substantial judgment for client Longview Energy Company.

Randy is particularly an asset when a case has layers of complexity that aren’t typical in commercial litigation, and when the matter is infused with economic issues. He frequently works with academic experts from leading institutions – Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, for example. He also advises businesses on distribution plans and provides legal and economic analysis of proposed transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, and for antitrust issues, especially in the energy sector.

From 2006 to 2012, Randy was general counsel of a global trade association in the semiconductor industry, and he has recently counseled clients in over two dozen other industries on a wide range of corporate issues, including Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission investigations and current trends in antitrust, RICO and class action law.

Randy publishes and speaks widely on RICO and antitrust issues and trends. His academic work is routinely cited as an authority in leading law reviews (e.g., Yale, Columbia, NYU) and in litigation (e.g., European Community v. RJR Nabisco Inc., 2011 WL 843957 (E.D. N.Y.)), including briefing to the Supreme Court of the United States (e.g., Bank of China, Bridge, Anza). As an elected member of the American Law Institute and the Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet, Randy participates in a number of projects involving economics, competition law and complex litigation.
