Rani E. Doyle

Rani Doyle is a partner in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. Ms. Doyle focuses her practice on securities law and regulatory matters as well as corporate governance, finance, and capital markets transactions. She counsels clients on Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)–related disclosure and financial reporting issues and provides advice on board composition, corporate governance, and accounting practices.

Ms. Doyle, a former Morgan Lewis associate, joined firm client Och-Ziff Capital Management LLC as a co-general counsel in 2007 to prepare the company for its IPO and oversee its public company compliance. She served as the primary legal adviser to the board of directors and senior management on the company’s responsibilities as a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). As chair of the company’s disclosure committee, Ms. Doyle managed all regulatory disclosures to the SEC, NYSE, and shareholders as well as press releases and investor disclosures.

Prior to initially joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Doyle held positions in the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance as special counsel in the Office of International Corporate Finance and as a staff attorney in the Office of Telecommunications and Computers. She was also a member of the team that drafted the SEC’s proposal relating to the regulation of securities offerings. For her work on this project, Ms. Doyle received the SEC’s Capital Markets Award.

Ms. Doyle interned for Senior Judge Mary Johnson Lowe in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and for Judge Murray G. Simon and Judge Harry S. Margolis in the Chancery Court of Essex County, New Jersey.
