Rex Veal is the Chair of the Corporate, Finance and Real Estate Department. He regularly represents investors in CMBS and CDOs and servicers in the servicing-related aspects of structured finance transactions, as well as the purchase and sale of servicing rights. Mr. Veal has significant experience in the restructuring, pooling and servicing of non-performing financial assets. He represents investors in both initial and secondary market transactions as well as terminating securitization trusts.

Prior to entering private practice, he held a number of senior positions with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), including Associate General Counsel for the FDIC and Special Counsel (General Counsel) to the RTC. Mr. Veal is active in industry groups including the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association and speaks frequently on the servicing aspects of structured finance transactions and the recovery of troubled assets.

Mr. Veal was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for Banking and Finance Law and Securitization and Structured Finance Law in 2015 and the eight years immediately preceding. He is ranked nationally in the 2009 and 2010 editions of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business for Capital Markets and Securitization law and was recognized in The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers for 2009.
