Rich Sobiecki’s trial practice covers a wide range of matters. He has represented clients in cases involving employment discrimination, securities law violations, putative and certified class actions, claims of fraud, breach of contract, RICO violations and other complex tort claims. He has also represented clients in investigations brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission and in prosecutions brought by the Department of Justice.

Mr. Sobiecki has significant courtroom experience. He first-chaired an attempted murder trial that ended in a hung jury in state court, and he has served on the trial team for both criminal and civil matters in federal court. He has also argued more than a half a dozen dispositive motions in federal courts across the country, including NY, DC, CA and PA, and has argued many other non-dispositive motions in state and federal courts. He has argued appeals in the New York State Appellate Division and the Circuit Court of Montgomery County.

Mr. Sobiecki has been the lead drafter of more than 30 dispositive motions, and has been the lead drafter of briefs filed in the Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, Eleventh and D.C. Circuits. He has also filed several amicus briefs in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Sobiecki served as a law clerk to the Honorable Susan H. Black of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
