Richard A. Nessler

Mr. Nessler is Of Counsel in the firm’s New York office. He is an experienced litigator who concentrates his practice on representing clients in tax litigation and IRS controversy matters. His practice also includes the representation of clients in New York State tax controversy matters, as well as in government and internal investigations and related tax and appellate matters.

Mr. Nessler has extensive experience with representing multinational corporations and individuals on a broad range of complex tax issues including tax shelters, option trading transactions, financial structures and products, privilege issues, summons enforcement actions, tax fraud, subpoena requests, valuation and residency disputes.

He previously served as a law clerk to Honorable Joseph W. Bellacosa, Senior Associate Judge, New York State Court of Appeals, New York State’s highest court.

Mr. Nessler received his B.S. in 1986 from the University of Dayton. He obtained his J.D. in 1991 from St. John’s University School of Law where he served as a member of the St. John’s Law Review, achieved Dean’s List, and received the St. Thomas Moore Scholarship.
