Doc Schneider

is a Senior Partner and trial lawyer in the Atlanta office of King & Spalding. His career at the firm spans more than 30 years and he is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Schneider focuses on the defense of complex tort and commercial litigation cases across a broad range of subject matters.

Lead counsel in 2012 defending a post-class action attorney’s fee claim in a tobacco class action

Lead counsel in 2012 in defending work product scientific research undertaken in the defense of national litigation concerning historical products that contain chrysotile

Lead counsel in 2012 in defense of claims brought by a South Dakota Indian tribe challenging legal sales of alcoholic beverages in Nebraska

Lead trial and appellate counsel in 2007 victory for Honeywell International Inc. in North Carolina chemical plant exposure cases.

Lead appellate counsel who successfully argued that Georgia’s tobacco settlement bars individual punitive damage claims.

Lead trial lawyer in large tobacco class action trial in Florida and Louisiana that included nearly two years of trial time

Working with lawyers in the firm’s Geneva office on World Trade Organization matters affecting regulation of tobacco products

Counseling with clients on the regulatory impact of the FDA’s regulation of tobacco products

Defeating class certification in various types of cases filed in Georgia, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Washington, D.C., New York and elsewhere.

Mr. Schneider has also taken a lead role in landmark internal corporate investigation, including EF Hutton, the Exxon Valdez oil spill and the Dow Corning breast implant controversy.

Mr. Schneider is a frequent lecturer and author on class actions, e-discovery, evidence and the United States Supreme Court’s key decisions each year.
