Rick's practice focuses on federal and state energy regulation, restructuring transactions and competitive arrangements among providers and wholesale and retail customers, as well as state licensing of merchant electric generating facilities. His clients include electric power, gas and renewable energy (including wind-power) companies, energy consulting firms and private equity investors.

Rick, co-head of the Hunton & Williams Regulated Markets and Energy Infrastructure team, also represents electric, gas, telecommunications, water and sewer utilities in a broad range of regulatory, transactional and corporate matters. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Energy Bar Association and the Federal Communications Bar Association.
