Mr. Sandler is a leader of the firm’s global capital markets and corporate governance practices. He regularly advises on all aspects of corporate governance and private securities offerings, including initial public offerings, high-yield debt securities, spinoffs, restructurings and exchange offers.

Mr. Sandler also has extensive experience in the financial institutions, payments and insurance industries. He recently advised on the $2.4 billion IPO of Ally Financial and the $2.8 billion IPO of Synchrony Financial, advised on VISA’s $19.1 billion IPO and Vantiv’s $575 million IPO and, in addition to having represented Aetna and PartnerRe for many years, acts as underwriters’ counsel on all public offerings by Genworth, Hartford and Travelers. Mr. Sandler has also regularly represented Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley.

He served in Davis Polk’s Paris office from 1982 to 1985.

He also serves on the board of directors of The Doe Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides paid transitional work, housing, educational opportunities, counseling and career training to veterans and others with histories of homelessness and incarceration.
