Richard John Groos

Richard Groos, partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group and resident in the firm’s Austin office, has a multifaceted practice centered on intellectual property law. His practice includes:

Consultation, implementation and strategic planning for domestic and international trademark and domain name registration and enforcement;

Trademark clearance, investigation, prosecution practice before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, ADR and litigation;

Creative solutions and problem solving for business needs in branding, advertising and trademark issues;

Preparation and implementation of trademark manuals, licenses, internal processes for the capture and creation of intellectual property rights, intra-company agreements and anti-counterfeiting programs.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Mr. Groos most recently was head of Technology and Innovation at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Mr. Groos is a member of the Texas bar and is admitted to practice before several federal district courts. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
