Richard Klein is co-chair of Wilson Elser’s national General Liability & Casualty practice and has been a member of the firm’s Executive Committee since 1997. He joined the firm nearly 40 years ago upon graduating from law school and has concentrated for most of his career in the general liability/casualty and insurance coverage areas.

Richard has extensive experience in defending claims arising out of construction projects and construction site accidents. He also defends commercial establishments, property owners, managers, and individuals in the myriad claims that may be asserted arising out of accidents on property for which they may be responsible. He has extensive experience in resolving coverage issues that arise in connection with such accidents and the insurance policies that may provide coverage for such property sites.

Creating and managing alternative fee programs for national client engagements also is an area in which Richard has particular skills. He oversees the firm’s national alternative fee programs, the largest of which produces about 800 new assignments per year and involves multiple Wilson Elser offices. He also provides his insights, experience and guidance to other firm partners when they are presenting and negotiating alternative fee programs in connection with new client engagements.
