Rich Ruben is one of the Firm's most experienced commercial trial attorneys and is the Firm's senior real estate litigation attorney. His practice focuses on complex commercial, real estate, and construction litigation. He handles a large number of class action cases, primarily in the unfair competition, trade secret, banking, and employment areas. Rich has served as first chair in more than 100 matters that have gone to jury trial, court trial, or arbitration.

In his real estate litigation practice, Rich represents major homebuilders/developers, commercial and industrial developers, commercial brokers, secured lenders, and investors in major projects. He has tried scores of real estate cases and handles buyer/seller disputes, partnership disputes, real property security cases, land use, and construction defects.

During the last decade, a substantial part of Rich's practice has consisted of defending consumer class actions brought under California Business & Professions Code section 17200 and the California Legal Remedies Act. He has handled consumer class actions for many large companies, including Apple Computer, Home Depot, LA Fitness, Ralphs Grocery Co., Taco Bell, and Time Inc. Home Entertainment.

Rich is a member of the board of trustees for Whittier College and Whittier Law School and was previously an adjunct professor at Whittier College Law School for eight years, teaching pretrial litigation tactics, advocacy, and procedure. He also is a member of the Mission Hospital Founders Board of Directors.
