Robert Holland is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience using written advocacy to win groundbreaking and high-stakes cases in federal and state appellate and trial courts throughout the country, and in training other attorneys to maximize their written advocacy and other professional skills. After his graduation from UC Berkeley law school and a judicial clerkship with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Robert joined the law firm Sidley Austin LLP in 1994, where he practiced appellate and complex commercial litigation as an associate until 2001 and as a partner until 2014. While at Sidley, Robert consistently obtained extraordinary results for his clients in a broad array of litigation matters, saving or recovering amounts totaling in the billions of dollars. His most effective tool for accomplishing these results was his unique skill and efficiency in written advocacy. In addition, as a supervising partner on numerous cases and co-head of attorney training at the firm for more than twelve years, he mentored and trained scores of attorneys in litigation skills and professional development.
