Robert Howell has more than thirty years of litigation experience, concentrating primarily on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Mr. Howell represents clients in a broad range of matters, including cases involving legal and accounting malpractice, insurance disputes, software-related disputes, bankruptcy-related matters, copyright infringement and bad faith and deceptive trade practice issues. He also handles litigation concerning health care reimbursement, construction defects, oil and gas matters, banking issues, partnership controversies and franchisor/franchisee disputes. He is also a member of the firm’s appellate group and has represented clients in the Texas courts of appeal, the Supreme Court of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
In another important area of his practice Mr. Howell provides legal counsel in state procurement and licensing matters, in administrative contested case proceedings and in state-government-related litigation.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Howell served as a briefing attorney for Justice C. L. Ray of the Supreme Court of Texas.
