Robert J. Gayda is counsel in Seward & Kissel’s Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization Group. Bob has practiced law since 2004, joining Seward & Kissel this year. Bob was a secondee in the global restructuring group at The Royal Bank of Scotland plc from 2009-2010. Over the course of his career, Bob has represented a diverse clientele in all aspects of restructuring. This includes creditors’ committees, a court-appointed examiner, lender groups, special committees, investors, and individual creditors in both out-of-court and in-court restructurings.
Some of Bob’s recent representative matters include Longview Power, Residential Capital, Detroit, MI, Jefferson County, AL, Lehman Brothers, and Tribune Company.
Bob is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (NY) Marketing & Communications Committee, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. Bob was also recently selected as a winner of the 7th Annual M&A Advisor Emerging Leaders Awards in the Legal Advisor category.
