Robert S. Bernstein is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and is a member of the firm's Taxation and Estates & Trusts Practices, and the Business Law Department. Mr. Bernstein's practice focuses on corporate, partnership, real estate and international taxation, corporate law, employee benefits, trusts and estates, tax controversy, and tax, valuation and fiduciary litigation matters. He is a member of the Board of Contributing Editors and Advisors, The Journal of Corporate Taxation and writes its Instruments, Techniques and Transactions column. Mr. Bernstein is the author of numerous articles in a variety of tax publications concerning the tax aspects of corporate financial transactions and financial products.
Mr. Bernstein's J.D. degree was conferred, magna cum laude, by the University of Miami School of Law. He was articles & comments editor and a member of the executive board of the University of Miami Law Review, and was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif. He received his Bachelor of Business degree in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida.
