Romy Celli’s practice focuses on patent prosecution, primarily in the area of biotechnology. Her practice includes advising clients in all areas of patent prosecution, including formulating and implementing global patent portfolio strategies for both first- and second-generation drug products and drug targets in more than 85 countries. Romy has experience in analyzing patents and advising clients concerning their validity, enforceability and infringement issues, performing freedom to operate analyses, conducting due diligence investigations, and deploying tactics to circumvent blocking patents, including opposition, interference, licensing and acquisition.
Romy was recognized as an Intellectual Property: Life Science Star practitioner by Managing Intellectual Property.
Romy earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1997. She received her M.A. in 1990 in biomedical sciences, with an emphasis in biochemistry and molecular biology, and her A.B. in biological sciences in 1986 from the University of California, Berkeley. She is admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the California bar, and the U.S. Federal Courts for the Northern, Eastern Central and Southern Districts of California.
