Ronald R. Sussman

Ronald R. Sussman is Of Counsel in the Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy practice at Cooley LLP, and is resident in the New York office.

Mr. Sussman has successfully handled a multitude of contested bankruptcy matters on behalf of creditor committees, employee, other official committees and debtors throughout the country, including exclusivity contests, officer and director liability litigation, equitable subordination actions, purchase price adjustment litigation, plan of reorganization confirmation proceedings, fraudulent conveyance/transfer actions, preference actions, turnover proceedings, cash collateral hearings, severance and retention hearings, claims litigation, UCC litigation, lease and executory contract litigation and asset disposition hearings. He has also litigated a broad range of commercial disputes in connection with contested bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Sussman's practice has afforded him the opportunity to represent clients in some of the most significant and complex bankruptcy proceedings across the country, and has been named one of the Super Lawyers of New York every year from 2006 through 2014.

Mr. Sussman is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and sits on the Executive Board and Board of Trustees for TMA Global. He previously served as TMA's President. The TMA is a global organization with over 9000 members in 50 chapters across 18 countries. Mr. Sussman regularly lectures and writes on bankruptcy topics and has been published dozens of times from 2006 through 2013. He has chaired various county bar association committees, including both the Ethics and Grievance Committees.
