Ross Weiss is a member of the firm, and the office managing partner of the West Conshohocken, Pa. office. Ross concentrates his practice in the areas of zoning, land use, and development and litigation (civil and criminal).
Ross represents residential, commercial and industrial real estate developers and property owners, including educational institutions. He has extensive experience appearing before boards of elected and appointed officials in the five county area of southeastern Pennsylvania. He was solicitor to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, The Waste System Authority of Eastern Montgomery County and several municipalities including, Whitemarsh Township, Lower Moreland Township, Towamencin Township Infrastructure Authority and Development Authority. He represents real estate development company Oliver Tyrone Pulver Corporation.
Ross has been active in politics for the past 40 years, having served as treasurer for numerous political campaigns, including candidates for the state legislature, Pennsylvania Supreme Court, county commissioner, Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, district attorney of Montgomery County and Montgomery County District Justice. In 2007, he served as treasurer of Matthews-Castor '07 (Montgomery County Commissioners); in 2011 he served as treasurer for Brown-Castor '11 (Montgomery County Commissioners); and, is currently treasurer for Friends of Bruce Castor and Friends of Jenny Brown. Ross has also been a director of the Montgomery County Bar Association, a member of its Judiciary Committee, and, in 2000, chairman of the committee. He has served on the Montgomery County Board of Health from 2002 to 2012 and was its chairman.
Ross is a member of the Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. He has been honored by his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" each year since 2004 and has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell's highest "AV" rating.
Ross earned his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1968 and his law degree from Duquesne University Law School in 1972 where he was an editor of the law review and member of the Appellate Moot Court Board. He was a law clerk to Benjamin R. Jones, Chief Justice, Pennsylvania Supreme Court (1972-1973) and a member of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office from 1973 to 1979, during which he was first assistant district attorney from 1975 to 1979.
