Sacha M. Steenhoek

Sacha M. Steenhoek is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Steenhoek represents private and public employers in all aspects of employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, and harassment litigation. She has experience defending single-plaintiff and multiplaintiff cases and class action matters, with a particular focus in wage and hour litigation. Ms. Steenhoek has conducted hundreds of interviews with putative class members and other key witnesses in wage and hour class actions. Her fluency in Spanish enables her to conduct numerous interviews of Spanish-speaking witnesses in their native language. Ms. Steenhoek represents employers in a variety of industries including technology, communications, finance, retail, manufacturing, restaurant, biotechnology, and agriculture.

Ms. Steenhoek also represents technology, finance, and biotechnology companies in business immigration matters, assisting multinational and Fortune 500 companies in obtaining non-immigrant and immigrant visas for their specialized workforces, including multinational executives and managers, individuals of extraordinary ability, and professionals. She assists corporate clients with hiring and retaining foreign employees with regard to labor certifications, specialty occupation petitions, and intracompany transfers. Ms. Steenhoek helps clients think and work proactively by providing them with traditional compliance policy reviews and audits, case management and litigation technology, and international executive travel and foreign resident worker visa processing.

Using her cross-competencies in business-focused employment and immigration law, Ms. Steenhoek has experience overseeing internal company audits in response to Department of Labor and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services investigations.

Ms. Steenhoek earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2007, where she was a member of the Hastings Law Journal. While in law school, she participated in two Moot Court competitions, was a member of the Thurston Honor Society, and was named to the Order of the Coif. Ms. Steenhoek earned her B.A. in sociology from Grinnell College in 2000.
