Sale Kwon is an associate in the Emerging Companies and Securities Regulation practice groups and a member of the Cooley Business department. He joined the Firm in 2008 and rejoined the Firm in 2013. Mr. Kwon is resident in the Palo Alto office.

Mr. Kwon practices securities and general corporate law, representing private and public companies as well as investors and investment bankers on a variety of matters that include private and public financing, SEC reporting and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. In the ROKA JAG Corps, Mr. Kwon represented the Republic of Korea in negotiating a number of defense procurement deals with prominent U.S. and European defense contractors as well as with defense departments of various countries around the world.

Prior to rejoining Cooley, Mr. Kwon served as Captain in the Republic of Korea Army Judge Advocate's General Corps.

Mr. Kwon received a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2008. During law school, he completed an externship with the Honorable Vaughn R. Walker of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Mr. Kwon completed his graduate and undergraduate studies at Stanford University, where he received an M.A. in Sociology and a B.A. in Psychology. Prior to attending Stanford University, Mr. Kwon attended Seoul National University in Korea, where he majored in Business Administration.

Mr. Kwon is admitted to practice in California.
