Sally A. Kay is a partner in the Emerging Companies practice group and a member of the Cooley Business department. Ms. Kay joined the Firm in 1999 and is resident in the Palo Alto office.

Ms. Kay has a general business and corporate law practice, representing both emerging and public companies in a variety of matters including venture capital financings, public offerings and SEC reporting and compliance. She also represents investment banks and venture capitalists in a variety of equity transactions, including public offerings and private placements.

Prior to joining Cooley, Ms. Kay spent more than six years with Cadence Design Systems, Inc., as both a program manager in the research and development group and as a project manager in the legal department. Prior to joining Cadence, Ms. Kay held various management positions in the restaurant, retail and hospitality industries.

Ms. Kay received her JD, cum laude, from Santa Clara University School of Law. She received her BA degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ms. Kay is a member of the State Bar of California.
