Sasha Rao is a skilled trial lawyer with an established record of success in intellectual property litigation for some of the world’s leading technology and life sciences companies.

Sasha is a Co-Chair of Maynard Cooper’s Intellectual Property practice, including its IP Litigation practice. Sasha’s extensive patent litigation experience allows her to simplify the presentation of complex technical arguments, and provide clients with winning results in court, while her degree in physics and strong technical background has enabled her to quickly master a wide range of technologies in the context of IP protection and litigation. Her technology know-how ranges from wireless devices, computers and software to big data, financial technology, robotics and drones.

Sasha’s litigation experience includes jury and bench trials in district courts throughout the United States, Hatch-Waxman cases, Markman hearings and International Trade Commission investigations. She is registered to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She also represents clients in Patent Office trials, including covered business method (CBM) and inter partes review (IPR) post-grant invalidity challenges available under the America Invents Act.

Sasha also advises clients on corporate and transactional matters in the technology and life sciences industries. Her subject matter expertise includes intellectual property, patent prosecution and strategy, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and other related issues such as privacy and information technology.
