Scott M. Williams is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. He focuses his practice on the area of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital, restructurings and general corporate representation. Mr. Williams has been recognized by The Legal 500 as one of the leading lawyers in his field.

Mr. Williams has extensive experience in directing and structuring legal transactions on behalf of private equity funds, as well as public and private corporations. He also provides continuing legal advice as the outside general counsel to a number of the firm's corporate clients, ranging from start-up ventures to publicly held corporations in the areas of securities law, commercial contracts and corporate governance.

Mr. Williams serves as general counsel to a Chicago-based private equity sponsor. He also periodically represents other middle market investment funds in mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Williams is admitted to the Illinois and Wisconsin bars.
