Sean D. Jordan is the co-chair of Jackson Walker's appellate practice group. For over 20 years, he has handled appellate cases and complex civil litigation in both government service and private practice. Mr. Jordan has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and has written numerous Supreme Court briefs, twice winning the "Best Brief Award" from the National Association of Attorneys General for outstanding brief-writing before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Before joining Jackson Walker, Mr. Jordan was partner-in-charge of the Austin office of his prior firm, and he previously served as the principal deputy solicitor general in the Office of the Solicitor General of Texas. In that role, he represented the state, its agencies and officials in numerous appeals and led a team of appellate lawyers in supervising the federal and state court appeals handled by the Texas Attorney General's Office. He also coordinated the amicus curiae practice of the State of Texas in the U.S. Supreme Court, and federal circuit and state appellate courts.

In private practice, Mr. Jordan handles appellate litigation as well as complex commercial cases in federal and state trial courts, with an emphasis on class action defense. He served as lead counsel in the BP oil spill litigation, guiding the drilling contractor through crisis management and regulatory issues following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Jordan served in the United States Army as an infantryman and paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
