Sean Whyte is a senior associate in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. Sean has experience representing clients in matters involving complex commercial litigation, consumer class actions, and products liability, including litigation resulting from Hurricane Katrina and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Sean has extensive trial experience before state and federal courts. Sean’s class action experience includes defending clients in cases involving Internet sales practices, consumer fraud and other federal statutes. He has represented clients in regulatory and government investigative matters involving federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Energy and the Federal Trade Commission.
Sean earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as member and articles editor of the Texas Law Review. He received a M.A. in philosophy, summa cum laude, from Bowling Green State University and a B.A. in philosophy, magna cum laude, from West Virginia University. Before practicing law, Sean completed all the course requirements for a doctoral degree in philosophy and taught at several colleges.
Sean was named a 2014 Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star in business litigation. He was also named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2010 by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program.
