Seth B. Waxman

Clients facing complex and sensitive government investigations by federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies turn to Seth for his experienced, aggressive, and efficient style developed over 20 years as a federal prosecutor and private litigator. Clients rely heavily on Seth’s inside knowledge of what motivates federal prosecutors, law enforcement, and regulators to defend and defeat government action at all stages of litigation. Significantly, Seth successfully navigates closure without public action during the investigative stages, exonerating clients before charges are even filed. Just as valuable to clients is Seth’s experience and abilities in the courtroom. He successfully tried as lead counsel more than 60 jury trials, 30 bench trials, and argued 15 matters on appeal. This is the experience of only the most seasoned trial lawyers. And, because Seth knows the endgame so well, he puts defense strategies and actions in place from the outset to expose weaknesses in the government’s case, thereby achieving favorable results for his clients in the most cost effective manner.

Seth’s experience in the area of corporate fraud includes wire/mail fraud, RICO, securities fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), government contracts, commercial bribery, Medicaid/Medicare fraud, international/domestic money laundering, bank secrecy, gaming, non-profit, and Ponzi schemes. In addition to his thirteen years as a federal prosecutor, Seth worked for seven years for leading international law firms located in New York City and Washington, D.C., representing Fortune 500 companies, corporate executives, investment bankers, and other professionals before various federal and state agencies, including the United States Attorney’s Offices for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the United States Department of Justice. Seth also has a broad range of experience conducting internal investigations prompted by whistleblowers, federal and state law enforcement, and various regulatory agencies.

Clients retaining Seth’s services take great comfort in the knowledge that they have an accomplished former federal prosecutor in their corner who tirelessly fights government action in order to vindicate his clients and restore their reputations.
