Shama Ashif Barday

Shama Barday is an associate in the Financial Services & Products Group and a member of the Payment Systems Team. Prior to joining the Payment Systems Team, Shama was an associate in the Firm’s Labor & Employment Group. In 2014, Shama was named to the Lawyer of Color’s Second Annual Hot List, recognizing attorneys excelling in the legal profession.

Shama received her J.D., cum laude, from Duke University School of Law in 2011. During law school, Shama served on the editorial board of Law and Contemporary Problems and was a student attorney in the Duke Law Children's Clinic. She also served on the Moot Court and Mock Trial Boards and participated in the 2010 American Bar Association's National Appellate Advocacy Competition.

Shama received her B.A. in International Studies and Middle Eastern Studies in 2008 from Emory University, where she was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and involved in several campus organizations.
