Sherri has extensive experience counseling and litigating for both large and small employers and executives throughout a wide variety of industries, with particular knowledge in life sciences, financial services and food services. She was recognized in 2013 by the International Law Office and Lexology for providing excellent client service and in 2009 by the New Jersey Law Journal as being within the top "Forty Under 40" young professionals in New Jersey's legal community.
Sherri routinely partners with human resource representatives and in-house counsel to provide advice on a broad spectrum of employment law matters and to assist clients in identifying creative, practical and cost-effective solutions for workplace concerns. Sherri has particular experience in handling issues arising from the use of social media in the workplace, in providing guidance related to criminal background checks, and in addressing ADA accessibility issues. She additionally counsels clients daily on a range of hiring, leave, termination, wage and hour, and other personnel issues to assure their compliance with various laws including the FMLA, ADEA, Title VII, ADA, FLSA and state and local counterparts.
In addition, Sherri is regularly called upon by clients to provide strategic assistance with respect to reductions in force, mergers and acquisitions, executive agreements and restrictive covenants. She defends wage and hour audits, develops workplace policies, provides interactive training programs, and conducts internal investigations into employee wrongdoings. She also regularly assists clients in investigating and assessing liability with respect to pre-litigation settlement demands and in effectively resolving matters before litigation ensues.
Where litigation has been unavoidable or filed without advance notice, Sherri has successfully defended clients against all types of single and multi-plaintiff employment claims including but not limited to those alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, wage and hour and wage payment violations, defamation, violations of public policy, whistleblower rights, violations of constitutional rights, negligence, and breach of contract within the state, federal and appellate courts and numerous federal and state administrative agencies (such as the EEOC, DOL, NJDCR, NYSDHR, NJDOL, PHRC and OSHA). She also has experience litigating a variety of other complex commercial and business-related claims for management, including those involving breaches of non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants as well as ADA Title III accessibility issues.
