Stacey Sprenkel is a member of the firm’s FCPA + Anti-Corruption Task Force. She has extensive experience conducting corporate internal investigations both domestically and internationally, and she regularly assists clients with conducting global risk assessments, and with developing, reviewing and implementing anti-corruption and other compliance policies and procedures. She conducts anti-corruption due diligence in connection with M&A and private equity transactions, and provides counseling on a broad range of compliance issues.
As a member of the Securities Litigation, Enforcement and White-Collar Defense Group, Ms. Sprenkel also represents companies, audit committees, special litigation committees, officers and directors in connection with securities class actions, derivative actions, SEC and DOJ investigations and enforcement proceedings. She also represents clients in complex commercial litigation involving civil RICO and antitrust matters.
A recognized emerging leader, Ms. Sprenkel was named among the Top Five Associates to Watch in California in 2013 by the Daily Journal, as part of the publication’s annual 20 Under 40 list highlighting California's emerging legal leaders. She was also recently recognized by The Recorder as among its Lawyers on the Fast Track, a list of attorneys practicing for less than 10 years in California whose early accomplishments indicate they will be tomorrow’s top lawyers and leaders. EuroMoney Legal Media Group recently selected Ms. Sprenkel as one of eight women recognized on the 2014 shortlist of litigation rising stars for the “Americas Women in Business Law Awards,” which honors the achievements of women leading the legal sector across the Americas. She has also been recommended as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers every year since 2009.
Ms. Sprenkel has long been a champion for veterans’ rights. She briefed, argued and won a motion to certify a high-profile class action on behalf of veterans who were exposed to chemical and biological substances during their time in service as a result of secret human testing programs conducted by the U.S. military. Ms. Sprenkel was also a member of the trial team in VCS v. Peake, a class action brought on behalf of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder against the Department of Veterans Affairs for failure to provide statutorily mandated benefits and healthcare to returning troops. Ms. Sprenkel serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Swords to Plowshares, a veterans’ rights organization.
