Stacey S. Farrell

Stacey is a member in Cozen O'Connor’s Global Insurance Department, where she represents insurers in high exposure coverage disputes and complex litigation. She is based in the firm’s Atlanta office and also works closely with the firm’s London practice area in the representation of London insurers in federal and state courts throughout the Southeast. Stacey focuses on working with excess and surplus line insurers in relation to potentially catastrophic risks and representing those insurers in connection with catastrophic losses.

A significant portion of Stacey’s practice is devoted to commercial first-party property losses, with a particular emphasis on those arising out of suspected arson and fraud, explosions, hurricanes and other widespread natural disasters. In addition to her first-party property practice, Stacey also handles potentially high exposure third-party liability claims under commercial excess policies, arising from underlying allegations of wrongful death, construction defect, and product liability.

Stacey routinely defends insurers against alleged statutory and common law bad faith claims and extracontractual damages in jurisdictions throughout the United States. Her practice regularly includes protecting industry clients from abusive discovery practices and pretrial litigation tactics associated with policyholder bad faith allegations.

Stacey earned both her B.B.A. in international business and her law degree from the University of Georgia. Stacey also studied at Osaka University of Foreign Studies, in Osaka, Japan, where she completed her minor in Japanese.
