Stefanie Jill Fogel

Stefanie Fogel focuses on commercial litigation, product liability litigation, and regulatory and code compliance.

She represents national and international manufacturers of equipment chemical products, bio-technology detection devices, pharmaceutical products and a variety of consumer products. She serves as national coordinating counsel for multiple clients in the area of toxic torts, consumer fraud, and product liability matters, and represents them against individual, multi-district and class action claims. She has developed a multidisciplinary crisis management team to quickly and effectively address issues arising out of recalls, natural disasters, equipment failure, and environmental leaks and spills.

Stefanie has successfully defended cases to trial in both state and federal courts across the country. She has lectured across the country on subjects relating to evidentiary, in-house witness, expert witness and civil practice litigation issues.

A significant amount of her practice is also focused on litigation preparedness, particularly with respect to corporate compliance issues, process management, records and information management (RIM), privacy and e-discovery. She has developed protocols for the implementation of national and international document retention schedules, records management programs, e-discovery strategic plans, and ISO auditing. Stefanie has lectured extensively on RIM and e-discovery requirements and is currently advising multiple clients on developing best practices for addressing obligations under developing case law and the Federal Rules. Stefanie is also member of DLA Piper's Electronic Discovery Readiness and Response Group.

She has been selected to serve on DLA Piper's governing Policy Committee and the Hiring Committee, and is the current Litigation Advisor Coordinator. Stefanie is also proud to be the co-founder and co-chair for DLA Piper’s National Leadership Alliance for Women (LAW) Program.

Stefanie is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York and has been admitted in various other states pro hac vice. A Wharton School graduate, Stefanie was a commercial real estate financial analyst concerned with urban development before coming to DLA Piper.
