Stephen H. Youtsey has more than ten years of experience in intellectual property prosecution and litigation. And, with degrees in mechanical engineering and chemistry and more than ten years of industry experience in control systems, chemical analysis, and medical research, he brings a broad technical competence to his practice. His emphasis is on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the software, internet, electronic, mechanical, and medical device fields. His practice also includes litigation, opinion preparation, and patent analysis, with litigation experience encompassing complaint preparation through post-trial motions in highly complex cases, e.g., Hynix v. Rambus.

Mr. Youtsey is admitted to practice in California and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In 1985, he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Michigan. In 1989, he received his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) also from the University of Michigan. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 2000, and was awarded a Certificate in High-Technology Law. While still a law student, he was an extern clerk in the Federal District Court, San Francisco Division.
