Steve Goodman has extensive experience briefing and arguing appeals, as well as writing amicus curiae briefs, in both state and federal courts, on a wide variety of issues. His principal substantive area of practice is in insurance law, where he has represented insureds and insurers in coverage litigation relating to first-party and liability insurance, particularly in the area of insurance for environmental liabilities, with considerable experience in the matter of insurers' liability for "bad faith" and punitive damages. He also has worked on a number of international commercial arbitrations and handled matters involving the application and enforceability of the Federal Arbitration Act.
