Stephen J. Jeffries

Stephen Jeffries is a partner in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and practices in the area of intellectual property, focusing on trademark and domain name matters. Mr. Jeffries has substantial experience in handling complex trademark registration matters and related ex parte appeals both in private practice and as a former examiner in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is also experienced in prosecuting and defending inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; prosecuting trademark related complaints through ICANN's domain name dispute resolution procedure; conducting trademark infringement and counterfeiting litigation; handling trademark matters involving the United States Customs Service; negotiating, drafting and recording trademark license, consent, assignment and domain name transfer agreements; and counseling in connection with a wide variety of trademark, domain name and related unfair competition matters.

Mr. Jeffries served as a trademark examining attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office from 1990 to 1995. He has also lectured on the law of trademarks and unfair competition as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center and chaired the Trademark Committee of the D.C. Bar Association.
