Steven Kent's legal practice includes professional liability, insurance and reinsurance litigation, employment disputes and restrictive covenants, officer compensation, and ethical issues related to the practice of law.

In the area of legal malpractice, Steve has defended lawyers for more than 30 years in cases involving a wide area of legal specialties, including securities, banking, intellectual property, trusts and estates, taxation, torts, and libel and slander. Steve has handled and tried cases involving legal malpractice matters in New York and other jurisdictions, including Arizona, the District of Columbia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

In the area of insurance and reinsurance, Steve has counseled insurers, self-insurers, TPAs, MEWAs, benefit plans, and insurance brokers/producers with respect to business disputes, regulatory matters, risk management, coverage, and insurance policy wording and new products.

Steve has lectured at Columbia University on the legal and ethical regulation of the health care industry, has addressed private groups on health care and insurance regulation, and has lectured on legal ethics.
