Steve Young is a versatile attorney who has adapted his practice throughout his career to meet clients’ needs in the ever-changing field of liability insurance. Steve’s broad experience in the insurance arena provides him with the insight necessary to handle all types of claims based on various types of policies.
Steve maintains an active practice defending employment practices liability (EPL) claims in the federal and state courts, as well as before state administrative agencies. Steve’s legal practice also includes the representation of insurers in connection with the analysis of coverage and the assessment of claims under various types of for-profit and not-for-profit directors and officers (D&O) policies. He also focuses on the defense of insureds covered by errors and omissions (E&O) policies, with an emphasis on insurance agents and brokers and real estate professionals.
For more than 10 years, Steve has been primarily responsible for national claims hotlines offered as an added service to corporate and professional insureds covered by certain of the firm’s insurance carrier clients. In this role, Steve has responded to hundreds of pre-claim inquiries from various employers, professionals, and corporate officers and provided advice on claim avoidance strategies in the EPL, D&O, and E&O areas.
