Summer Wynn is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation Department. She joined the firm in 2005 and is a resident in the San Diego office. Ms. Wynn's practice encompasses employment litigation and counseling, environmental and land use litigation and counseling, and complex commercial litigation, including class actions.
Ms. Wynn has both trial and appellate experience representing clients in litigation matters including:
Wage and hour class actions under California law, including claims regarding overtime, "off-the-clock" work, misclassification, meal and rest periods, alternative workweeks, vacation policies, unlawful deductions from wages, employment applications, tip pools, the Private Attorney General Act, various penalties under the Labor Code, and the Unfair Competition Law;
Individual employee claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation;
Environmental review and other claims under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), the National Environmental Policy Act ("NEPA"), the federal Coastal Zone Management Act ("CZMA"), the California Coastal Act, the California Alquist-Priolo Act, the California Seismic Hazards Mapping Act, and the San Diego Unified Port District Act; and
Disputes with various federal, state, and local public agencies, and special districts regarding jurisdictional, land use, environmental, and other permitting issues.
Ms. Wynn also has extensive experience counseling clients and negotiating resolutions of disputes.
She dedicates a significant portion of her practice to pro bono work. She received the firm's Pro Bono Achievement Award in 2010 for her outstanding contribution to the firm's Pro Bono Practice.
Ms. Wynn received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law located in San Francisco in May of 2005, graduating cum laude. Ms. Wynn participated in several national moot court competitions while at Hastings, including the Evan A. Evans Constitutional Law National Moot Court Competition where she placed third for Best Oral Advocate.
Ms. Wynn externed for Justice Joyce L. Kennard of the California Supreme Court.
Ms. Wynn is admitted to practice in California before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Central, and Northern Districts of California, and all California state courts. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
