Susan A. Weber

Susan Weber focuses her litigation practice on complex mass tort and consumer fraud cases, including class action defense and multidistrict, constitutional, and appellate litigation. Much of her recent work has involved the defense of pharmaceutical companies in mass tort and consumer fraud litigation. She is an experienced strategist in multi-district litigation (MDL) and coordinated state court proceedings, and is an accomplished leader of briefing teams, skilled at assuring quality and consistency when many briefs are filed simultaneously in different jurisdictions.

Susan is a veteran negotiator of case management protocols in high-volume litigation and adept at working closely with fact and expert teams to integrate deposition and briefing strategies early in litigation and adapt those strategies as litigation progresses. In one MDL, the court excluded in whole or in substantial part the testimony of each of plaintiffs’ generic experts and later granted summary judgment in every case in which the defendant sought summary judgment.

Susan previously coordinated appellate strategy for a producer of blood products in AIDS litigation, in which defendants secured on mandamus the decertification of a nationwide class. In addition to counseling pharmaceutical companies, Susan has represented hospitals and healthcare providers in litigating constitutional issues, and telecommunications and consumer product companies in consumer fraud litigation.
