Susan van Keulen is a partner in O’Melveny’s Silicon Valley office and a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice within the Litigation Department. Susan’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark and trade secrets matters. She has extensive experience litigating actions in federal and state courts and in private arbitrations, with particular experience handling patent and commercial disputes involving semiconductor, computer and electronics technology. Susan's work defending SK hynix Inc. at trial resulted in the successful defeat of US$12 billion claims asserted by Rambus, Inc., hailed by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Defense Verdicts of 2011. Susan is also a frequent speaker on topics involving patent, trade secrets and e-commerce issues.

Susan is deeply committed to the advancement of women in the legal profession. In 2013, The Recorder honored Susan as one of 50 “Women Leaders in Technology Law.” She is the 2014 Chair of O’Melveny & Myers Women’s Leadership Academy, an event dedicated to developing leadership skills, and improving the participation and advancement, of women lawyers. She has also worked to help promote the fair and equal treatment of women lawyers in Asia and was a key participant in the inaugural meeting of the Women’s In-house Counsel Forum in Seoul, Korea in March 2013.
