Taylor C. Day is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Day focuses his practice in complex commercial and consumer class action litigation across a range of industries in both federal and state courts. His background includes experience with business disputes involving breach of contract, unfair competition, environmental defense and tort litigation, and products liability. Mr. Day is an active member of the firm's Class Action Working Group, the American Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Mr. Day's recent experience includes representation of a national banking association from several commercial real estate claims, which resulted in a dismissal of all claims that was later upheld on appeal. He has also helped counsel one of the country's largest financial institutions in connection with investigations following recent turbulence in the financial and mortgage markets.
Mr. Day's pro bono work includes representation of asylum seekers both in Immigration Court and the USCIS. He was recently part of a team that successfully won a grant of asylum to an Iranian citizen based on political and religious persecution. Mr. Day is a volunteer attorney in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit's Pro Bono Program and serves on the firm's Pro Bono Committee.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Day participated in the firm's Public Interest Fellowship Program serving as a legal research analyst at the University of San Diego's Energy Policy Initiatives Center, where he analyzed key energy-related legislation affecting California. In addition to his time there, Mr. Day was a staff attorney at the University of San Diego School of Law Legal Clinics for the Appellate Clinic and the Civil Clinic.
Mr. Day received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2009. While in law school, he served as senior production editor of the Hastings Law Journal and was a member of Hastings' nationally ranked Moot Court program. Mr. Day received his B.S., magna cum laude, in business administration, with a concentration in international business, from the University of Southern California in 2006.
Mr. Day is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
